Global law firm Dentons have announced that it will significantly enhance its capital markets practice with two new partners joining their London office: 

  • Cameron Half is a senior US securities lawyer with nearly 15 years experience representing underwriters, lead managers and corporate and sovereign issuers and shareholders on high-profile equity and debt capital markets transactions. Cameron focuses on European and emerging markets, including Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Russia and CIS.
  • Nick Hayday specialises in debt capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on emerging markets. He represents investment banks, sovereigns, issuers and private equity clients in sectors including financial institutions, pharmaceuticals, airlines, railways, oil and gas and mining.

DLA Piper have announced that Johan Renes have joined their Amsterdam office as a partner in its Intellectual Property & Technology (IPT) group. Johan is a qualified European patent attorney and provides general consultancy services to international clients in the life sciences sector. He has extensive experience in patent litigation and IP portfolio management, as well financing and IPOs in the bio-tech sector.

Global law firm Reed Smith LLP have announced the addition of a five-member state tax team headed by partner Andres Vallejo. In addition to Vallejo, the team includes counsel Peter Kanter, counsel James Kratochvill, and associates Priscilla Parrett and Matt Rilla. “Andres and his team are an ideal complement to our national state tax team,” said Lee Zoeller, leader of Reed Smith’s State Tax Group. “Andres has handled state tax controversy matters for some of the most well-known companies in the country, including Netflix and Safeway, and for numerous high profile, high net worth individuals.”

  • Agnieszka Besiekierska, PhD is an attorney and a counsel in the Tech & Comms team.   • Paulina Grotkowska is an attorney and an associate on the Labour Law team.  For more than nine years she has specialized in advising on individual and collective employment relationships.  She has taken part in mergers and acquisitions, company admissions to the stock exchange, work establishment restructuring projects, analyses of the compliance of corporate activities with labour law requirements, issues related to transfers of work establishments, group layoffs, voluntary leave programmes, and internal allocations.
