Brazil – Sao Paulo

Tauil & Checker Advogados announces the promotion of associates Gustavo Lasalvia (Aviation and Insurance & Reinsurance), Ludmila Arruda Braga (Real Estate) and Luis Otero Montes (Banking & Finance and Infrastructure) as new partners since January 2018. The bank has a of 34 members.

Gustavo has been working for fifteen years in the Insurance & Reinsurance and Aviation market, therefore has extensive experience in conducting relevant legal actions, arbitrations and in the regulation of claims of high complexity. In addition to providing advice on various security issues, it also acts in administrative proceedings before regulatory bodies. Gustavo has experience in crisis management in numerous claims of different branches, as well as responsible for the creation and management of programs for conflict resolution.

Ludmila has extensive professional experience in the legal structuring of real estate investments and advises investors in the implementation of real estate projects in Brazil, acting in the risk analysis of the operation, in its corporate architecture and also in the implementation of operations with capital market and financial vehicles for capture of resources by the client through equity or debt. 

Luis specializes in banking and finance law, with an emphasis on financing infrastructure projects, and accumulates significant experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. He advises financial institutions, investment funds, multilateral agencies and national and multinational companies in structuring and financing projects, renegotiating debts and other financial transactions in Brazil and abroad.

K&L Gates LLP has strengthened its investigations, enforcement and white collar practice with the appointment of Paul Feldberg as a partner. He joins K&L Gates from Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Feldberg focuses his practice on advising and defending companies and individuals in matters relating to criminal fraud, corruption, money laundering, sanctions, insider trading, and other regulatory actions. His experience includes working on some of the highest profile UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) cases, either as a prosecutor with the SFO or, more recently, in private practice, when he has acted for companies or individuals subject to SFO investigations or prosecutions.
