Dentons has announced 5 new partners has joined the company’s UK office as Real Estate partners. The team includes Rob Thompson, Robert Dowdell, Lewis Myers, Jayne Schnider and Simon Tweedle. All of the partners that joined Dentons were used to work for Irwin Mitchell. Rob Thomson was the Head of London Real Estate and Jayne Schnider was the Head of Corporate Real Estate in Irwill Mitchell. These partners have worked together for many years, and their arrival to Dentons will add heavyweight investment expertise to their credentials.

K&L Gates LLP has added Sasha Burstein as a partner in the firm’s investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments practice. She joins K&L Gates from Paul Hastings LLP. Burstein counsels investment advisors and institutional investors on matters involving private investment funds, including hedge, private equity, and hybrid funds. She advises on legal and regulatory matters such as registration and operation, mergers and acquisition transactions, regulatory compliance, also the structuring, negotiating, and documenting of alternative investments.

Latham & Watkins LLP announced that Peter Todaro has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as counsel in the Antitrust & Competition Practice Group in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department. His practice focuses on antitrust counseling, mergers and acquisitions and litigation in trial and appellate courts. Todaro has obtained clearance of mergers and acquisitions from the US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission for clients from a range of industries including energy, financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications.

Mayer Brown announced that Ryan R. Lawrence has re-joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate & Securities practice. Lawrence comes to Mayer Brown from Textura Corporation, a provider of a suite of collaboration cloud services to the commercial construction industry that was recently acquired. Lawrence will focus on mergers and acquisitions and represent buyers, sellers in connection with stock, asset acquisitions and divestitures, public and private mergers, tender and exchange offers, joint ventures, venture capital and other private equity investments.

Morrison Cohen LLP announced today that Steven H. Weitzen has rejoined the firm as Of Counsel in the firm’s Corporate Department.
