Mayer Brown announced today the appointment of William (Will) Glassey as Head of Insurance in London. 
Will, a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience as an insurance and professional liability litigator, joined Mayer Brown in 2000 and has been a partner at the firm since 2002. His practice is focused on defending negligence claims against solicitors, barristers, pensions actuaries and property professionals. He also represents professional individuals and advisers in regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings.

Clifford Chance today announced the hire of Markus Stephanblome, specialist for corporate law and listed companies transactions, to its Corporate team.

Markus is currently a partner at US law firm White & Case. He will join the Clifford Chance partnership in December and will be based in the firm’s Frankfurt office.Markus Stephanblome is highly regarded as an experienced and versatile corporate lawyer and expert transaction counsel. He mainly advises on public takeovers, as well as private M&A and private equity transactions. He carries a strong reputation for his advice on stock corporation law and core corporate reorganisation matters. Before joining White & Case, Markus spent the first ten years of his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he advised on numerous transactions for listed companies.

Stefan Riegler is moving to Austria’s largest law firm. Riegler will lead the arbitration group of Wolf Theiss in Vienna and further expand its multijurisdictional arbitral practice.

 Stefan Riegler specializes in representing companies involved in commercial legal disputes before arbitral tribunals and can look back at more than a decade of experience in this area. Mr. Riegler worked for Wolf Theiss as an Associate in the years 2003-2005 before subsequently helping to build up the arbitration practice of Baker McKenzie, most recently as Partner. The focus of his arbitration practice includes post-M&A, banking, competition, insolvency and energy. Riegler studied in Vienna and London, and is recognized as a leading arbitration expert in Austria.
