Baker & McKenzie has announced, that Daniel Cullen has returned to its North American Tax Practice as a Partner, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in tax planning related to real estate capital markets projects. Based in Chicago, Mr. Cullen has deep experience in all aspects of tax planning for inbound and outbound real estate projects, including real estate investment funds, leveraged partnerships, joint ventures, REITs and Section 1031 like-kind exchange matters, including Delaware statutory trust (DST) structures.

Dentons continues to build out its Corporate practice in the UK with the hire of partner Jonathan Cantor. Jonathan is to join the Firm in London from Nabarro, where he has been a partner since 2007. Jonathan has advised both UK and international clients, including a number of large institutional and private equity investors as well as sovereign wealth funds, property companies and fund managers on multi-jurisdictional deals, co-investment structures and associated management arrangements.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher is pleased to announce that Dr. Ferdinand Fromholzer will join the firm’s Munich office as a partner. Previously a partner with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Munich, he will continue his corporate law practice, focusing on stock corporation law and corporate governance issues, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Fromholzer has a broad corporate practice that focuses on core corporate law matters, such as annual stockholder meetings and corporate structural measures, among others; M&A, with strategic and private equity investors; and compliance investigations, with a focus on duties and obligations of directors and officers.

K&L Gates has expanded its U.S. and cross-border labor, employment and workplace safety practice with the addition of Houston partner Nickolas G. Spiliotis. He joins K&L Gates from Texas-based law firm Jackson Walker LLP. Spiliotis has a national labor and employment disputes and advisory practice, with experience in the state and federal courts of Texas and New York, among other states.

Reed Smith has announced the appointment of U.S. securities partner Daniel Winterfeldt as a partner in the firm’s Financial Industry Group, based in London. Daniel’s arrival reflects Reed Smith’s ambition to continue strengthening its international capital markets practice. Daniel will join Reed Smith with a legal team (including three senior associates) from CMS Cameron McKenna, where he led the International Capital Markets Group, including the U.S. securities practice, and served as the firm’s diversity and inclusion partner.
