Canada – Edmonton

Dentons announces that Tom Gusa has joined the Firm as a partner in our Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group. Based in Edmonton, Tom is a financial services and insolvency lawyer whose practice consists of personal and corporate insolvency, secured and unsecured debt collection, and foreclosures. He advises on all matters relating to corporate debt restructuring, receiverships, CCAA proceedings and security enforcement. He has assisted corporate and commercial clients with a variety of banking issues and business disputes.

Latham & Watkins LLP announced that Todd Beauchamp has joined the firm in Washington, D.C., as a partner in the Corporate Department and Financial Institutions Group to lead the Payments & Emerging Financial Services practice. Beauchamp represents financial institutions, non-bank financial services companies, and technology companies in a wide variety of domestic and international transactional, regulatory, and general corporate matters.

K&L Gates LLP has added James Bradley as a partner in the transportation finance practice area in its Singapore office. He joins K&L Gates from Norton Rose Fulbright. Concentrating his practice on the transportation and finance sectors, Bradley has gained experience as external and in-house counsel in roles based in Asia and Europe, advising leading financial institutions, aircraft and engine lessors, airlines, other stakeholders, and shipowners on a variety of transactions. This includes having acted for asset owners with respect to the leasing, purchasing, and financing of their assets, as well as their worldwide fleet management and joint ventures.

USA – Seattle 

K&L Gates LLP has added aviation lawyer Misha Kovacevic as a counsel in its Seattle office. Kovacevic joins K&L Gates from the Chicago office of Vedder Price P.C. Fluent in German and Serbian/Croatian, Kovacevic has more than a decade of international experience in the aircraft leasing and asset finance areas. Among the matters he has handled for major aviation and finance clients have been the subleasing of the entire AirTran Boeing 717 fleet to Delta; the negotiation of Alafco’s first U.S. market leases of A320 aircraft to Allegiant Air; the drafting and structuring of a novel Korean aviation investment fund; and the drafting and negotiation of a variety of aircraft lease arrangements for clients such as Southwest, AAR, and Alterna; as well as work involving Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air Canada, JetBlue, and US Airways.
