Avellum has promoted Vadim Medvedev to Senior Associate with Avellum Partners’ Tax Practice. Vadim specialises in tax and succession planning matters and has significant experience advising clients in international tax planning, transaction structuring and succession planning matters.
Also has been promoted Oleksandr Polonyk to Senior Associate with Avellum Partners’ Corporate Practice. Oleksandr’s primary focus is on corporate and M&A, energy and natural resources, as well as debt and equity capital markets.

Dentons is expanding with the hire of a partner and four additional lawyers. Partner Stefano Speroni has joined Dentons as head of the Corporate and M&A practice in Milan. Mr. Speroni comes from Grimaldi Studio Legale, where he was the lead partner of the Corporate and M&A practice and a member of the Executive Committee.
He joins along with a team of three professionals: Counsel Barbara Urselli, Associate Leonora Ruta and Associate Federica Andreoni. In addition to Speroni’s team, Associate Federico Giacobbe has also joined the Corporate M&A practice from Baker & McKenzie.

Greenberg Traurig appointed Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani in New York as Global Chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Crisis Management Practice and Senior Advisor to firm Executive Chairman.
Also joining Greenberg Traurig will be former supervisory federal prosecutor Marc L. Mukasey who will serve as Global Co-Chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense Practice. Mukasey previously served as Unit Chief and Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and was a former staff attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Giuliani and Mukasey will both be joining from Bracewell & Giuliani, a Texas firm whose New York City office was established by the Mayor in 2005.

Reed Smith has announced the appointment of projects and finance partner Simon Harvey to its UAE offices. Simon joins the firm from Pinsent Masons (in Dubai). Simon advises clients on a range of projects and infrastructure matters relating to power, gas, minerals and resources, upstream and offshore work. Simon acts for sponsors and developers as project counsel, which includes EPC construction, O&M, concession and financing aspects.
