Dentons welcomes three tax credits and tax-advantaged investing partners to the firm’s St. Louis office. Amelia Lewis and Jennifer Simmons as partners in the Real Estate practice, and Nick Kappas as partner in the Tax practice :
- Jennifer Simmons is a member of Dentons’ Real Estate practice. Jennifer has deep experience representing investors, lenders, developers and community development entities in transactions involving various forms of debt, equity and public financing, including federal and state new markets tax credits, historic tax credits, renewable energy credits and low-income housing tax credits.
- Amelia is a member of Dentons’ Real Estate practice. She focuses her practice on financing transactions involving federal and state new market, historic and low-income housing tax credits. She also represents clients regarding a variety of state tax credit programs, including brownfield credits and Missouri Development Finance Board (MDFB) contribution credits.
- Nicholas is a member of Dentons’ Real Estate practice group. He concentrates his practice on tax-related matters, with a particular emphasis on federal and state tax credit transactions. Nick has represented clients on transactions involving new market, historic rehabilitation and low-income housing tax credits, as well as on various federal and state tax matters including tax credit syndication, tax-exempt organizations and state tax controversy.

DLA Piper has announced that Maurice Allen has joined the firm as a consultant as of 1 March. In his new role at DLA Piper, Maurice will assist the firm’s Financial Services sector in developing both existing and new client relationships. He will be working with Charles Severs, Managing Director of Practice Groups, and Jan Geert Meents, Managing Director of Sectors and Clients. In February 2017 Zita Albert joined Schoenherr, the Central and Eastern European full service law firm as local partner in Budapest. A Hungarian attorney with over 13 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity transactions across the CEE region, she will lead Schoenherr’s corporate M&A team in Budapest.
