The latest private practice and in-house moves from some of the biggest players on the legal market from the 3rd of May until the 10th of May 2017.

International law firm Dentons have announced that the firm has strengthened its platform in Hungary and the CEE/SEE region with the recruitment and promotion of several legal professionals, including the creation of two new partners. These promotions and hires substantially enhance Dentons’ capabilities in M&A, Private Equity, Real Estate, Competition and Antitrust, and Litigation and Dispute Resolution in Hungary.

Joining Dentons as a partner in the M&A and Private Equity practice group is Annamária Csenterics. Also joining Dentons as a senior associate in the M&A and Private Equity practice group is Sean Huber, an English and Australian dual qualified lawyer. Marcell Szőnyi, previously an of counsel in Dentons’ Budapest office, has also been promoted to the position of partner in the Real Estate practice group. Additionally, Tünde Gönczöl has been promoted to counsel in the Competition and Antitrust practice group, which she also co-heads. Márk Baja has been promoted to counsel in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Global law firm Baker McKenzie have announced the addition of Partners Kenneth Quinn and Jennifer Trock, a preeminent aviation and drone team based in Washington, DC. Global law firm DLA Piper have announced the appointment of Ana Garcia Fau, formerly of Hibu and Telefonica, and Guillaume Penot, President for Europe for Moët Hennessy, as Non-Executive Directors to the firm’s International Board. Ana will also join the firm’s Global Board. Ana Garcia Fau, has held several executive positions at the Telefonica Group, as Corporate Development Officer and CFO for the Spanish and Latin American directory business. Between 2006 and 2014 she was CEO, expanding her role to the US Hispanic market. She has developed a broad experience driving operational and digital transformation as well as significant M&A exposure. Guillaume Penot is currently the President for Europe for Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH. After attending Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Bordeaux and gaining a Masters in Finance and International Business, Guillaume began his career in finance, joining drinks company Remy Martin before studying at INSEAD, where he studied on the MBA programme.

Law firm Latham & Watkins LLP have announced that Andrew Strelka has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a counsel in the Tax Controversy Practice in the Tax Department. Strelka has significant experience in tax litigation, enforcement and investigations. Strelka has considerable courtroom experience and has litigated cases from pre-suit negotiations through the appellate process. He previously served as a trial attorney at the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Tax Division from 2010 to 2014.

Global law firm White & Case LLP have announced that Kenneth Juster has joined the Firm’s Global Capital Markets Practice as a partner in its Boston office. International law firm K&L Gates have announced that Giovanni Meschia have joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s investment management, hedge funds, and alternative investments practice in their Milan office. Meschia advises domestic and international fund managers on the structuring, establishment, and operation of alternative investment schemes across a wide range of asset classes, including private equity and debt, real estate, and venture capital.
