Baker & McKenzie announced that Przemysław Kucharski, advocate and former CMS partner, has joined the law firm, as Local Partner at the firm’s Warsaw office. The move is aimed at further strengthening the Real estate and Construction department of Baker & McKenzie in Poland. Przemysław Kucharski is an expert in real estate and construction law. His unique selling point is a combination of over 11 years’ experience on the real estate market in Poland, tax knowledge and business acumen.

Dentons announced an expansion of its California client service capabilities with the addition of Marc Burgat in Sacramento as a principal in the Firm’s nationally ranked Public Policy and Regulation practice. Burgat draws on more than 20 years of experience in public policy, politics, communications and advocacy to advise domestic and international clients on the regulatory landscape in California.

DLA Piper has appointed Ross McKean as a partner in the London Data Protection team, part of its market leading IPT group. Ross joins the firm from Olswang where he was head of the firm’s data protection practice. Ross is an experienced data protection lawyer and has advised on various high profile data breaches and incident responses for FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 clients. He also has experience acting on international sourcing transactions, particularly with a focus on personal data and compliance issues.

K&L Gates welcomes Piotr Łaska as an of counsel in the real estate investment, development, and finance practice in the Warsaw office of the law firm. He joins the firm from Hogan Lovells. Łaska counsels clients such as financial investors, developers, construction companies, and commercial tenants on a wide range of real estate, investment fund, and construction matters. He has led a variety of commercial real estate and business transactions, including advising on such areas as due diligence, contract drafting, and final negotiations.

Norton Rose Fulbright announced the appointment of Antoine Colonna d’Istria as a tax partner in its Paris office. Antoine joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris, where he has been a partner for 16 years. Antoine is a member of the Paris bar and has over 20 years’ experience. He predominantly advises French and multinational groups as well as investment funds. He has been involved in a number of transactions across Europe in recent years, particularly in the real estate, M&A, refinancing and restructuring sectors.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges announced that James MacArthur will join the firm as a partner in the Corporate practice.
