Mayer Brown JSM has appointed Terence Tung as the firm’s new Senior Partner effective 1 June 2016. He takes over from Elaine Lo who is stepping down after having served as Senior Partner since 2007. His practice focuses primarily on litigation and dispute resolution. One of the landmark cases Mr. Tung led was the liquidation of the Guangdong International Trust and Investment Corporation, one of the first and largest bankruptcy of a financial institution in China

Norton Rose Fulbright announced that experienced insolvency and restructuring lawyer Peter Bowden is joining as a partner in Melbourne.An Australian and UK qualified lawyer, he has significant experience advising banks, insolvency practitioners, hedge funds, creditors and debtors on restructuring, insolvency, workouts, banking and distressed debt transactions. He has also developed a broad practice in industries such as mining, mining services, property, construction, agriculture and manufacturing.

Jones Day has announced that Elizabeth Doughertyand and Douglas Hall have joined the Firm as partners in its Labor & Employment Practice and will be based in Jones Day’s Washington Office. Ms. Dougherty served as Chairman and Board Member at the National Mediation Board, an independent agency that oversees airline and railroad labor relations and administers the Railway Labor Act. Mr. Hall represents air carriers and other major U.S. companies in connection with collective bargaining, contract interpretation, mediation and arbitration of grievances, and complex labor and employment litigation.
